The Barkhamsted Garden is a not for profit community group. We don't have the formal documentation yet to let your donations be tax deductible, but we are still happy to accept gifts.
Some of the items we could use are:
Eleven saplings: 13' high. 2" in diameter. These are for the tipi.
28- metal stakes/rebar or wood to tie tomatoes & peppers
Blood meal
Peat pots
Organic potting soil
Fish emulsion
Compost tea
Broken patio stone
Clean mulch
Straw bales (14, tight, can be old and/or damp)
Scissors
Trowels
Hose
Soak hose
Nozzle that has a shower like end
Rain barrels

- The Barkhamsted Garden is a newly emerging community project centered on the initiation and maintenance of a vegetable garden next to Town Hall. The founders of the garden had their 2nd meeting tonight – Feb. 23, 2010. The mission statement, goals and objectives are still being clarified but primarily are: 1. Have Barkhamsted youth learn about sustainable agriculture through participation 2. Donate produce from the garden to Food Pantry for distribution to those in need 3. Benefit the community as a whole with the greening of Barkhamsted. This year’s garden is going to be a straw bale tipi garden. Pictures, links and lots more information to follow!
