Barkhamsted Garden: Barkhamsted, Connecticut, United States; The Barkhamsted Garden is a newly emerging community project centered on the initiation and maintenance of a vegetable garden next to Town Hall. The founders of the garden had their 2nd meeting tonight – Feb. 23, 2010. The mission statement, goals and objectives are still being clarified but primarily are: 1. Have Barkhamsted youth learn about sustainable agriculture through participation 2. Donate produce from the garden to Food Pantry for distribution to those in need 3. Benefit the community as a whole with the greening of Barkhamsted. This year’s garden is going to be a straw bale tipi garden. Pictures, links and lots more information to follow!
